Recently, the largest cruise line in the world – Queen Mary 2 – visited Dun Laoghaire. I posted some photos of this on my Facebook (personal) page – and one of them has now been used in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Council magazine – dlrtimes.

I recently had the opportunity to take photographs of some food prepared by Terry who has now reached the final of the RTE Masterchef Ireland competition. At the time of posting, I know he’s in the final – the last 3 remaining contestants – but I don’t know who actually wins. So, Good Luck Terry – and also good luck to Nicha and Tamarin. It’s a huge achievement to get this far. Hope they all manage to benefit from the experience.

An alternative look at New Orleans via the huge variety of street signs and ads I photographed there. Everything from bar and venue signs, political statements to faded wall adverts. A vibrant, fascinating, musical amazing city. Big Irish connections as well – many of them on the gravestones !

In recognition of the end of Mardi Gras today in New Orleans, here’s a photo of a streetcar. Sadly, it no longer runs to Desire, so that’s photoshopped-in (from an actual historical tram sign). Some photos taken from Dun Laoghaire pier – the bandstand was outlined with some Xmas lights (though the protective barriers around it did take away from the impact).
